Also known as a Polka-Dot Begonia, the Maculata is an eye-catching plant due to its olive-green leaves on top, orange/reddish on the bottom, and how it's bedecked by bright white spots.
- As with all begonia, the Maculata loves bright, indirect light. The more indirect light it receives, the happier it will be! While it can handle slightly lower light levels, its variegation and colours will fade if it can't get enough of the bright light it craves.
- Try to keep this begonia's soil slightlymoist at all times - this usually means watering more often, with smaller amounts of water. Try to watch for when the top 1/2" of soil is dry, as this is a good indicator that it could do with a bit more water.
- Always ensure that extra water is able to drain away from the plant.
- This begonia loves humidity (over 45% humidity is best). This can mean leaving the plant near a humidifier, placing it on a "wet pebble tray", or by misting it semi-regularly.
